Maybelline Baby Lips Review

Hi everyone!

Whilst I was on holiday I heard about the long awaited launch of Maybelline’s Baby Lips in the UK so as soon as I got home I just had to get them. Superdrug had a 3 for 2 offer on at the time so I got two Baby Lips as well as a Colour Show nail polish.

I did wonder if these lip balms were going to live up to the hype as I have heard so much about them and had extremely high expectations but I have to say that I haven’t been disappointed. I bought Pink Punch and Hydrate so that I could give the tinted one a try and also the ones which have no colour.

Pink Punch is my favourite of the two as I really like the pink tint that it gives and think that it is much nicer on than it appears at first glance in the tube. I was worried it would look like the plastic, bright makeup you get when you are little, but it’s much more sheer when on. The Hydrate option has no colour but does have an SPF 30 and provides more intense hydration than the coloured ones.

Both balms glide on really smoothly and last a fair while before you need to reapply. Having said that, my lips are very dry and although these balms are good for use throughout the day, I do need something a bit stronger to help with the overall problem I have with chapped lips.

Overall I would definitely recommend the Baby Lips balms and at only £2.99 each they are not going to break the bank. However, if you’re like me and suffer from very dry lips don’t expect that these are going to solve the problem completely, you will probably need something much more hydrating and long lasting for that :)

Have any of you guys tried the Maybelline Baby Lips? What did you think?

MAC Angel Lipstick

Hi everyone!

I recently rediscovered a lipstick which I used to wear non-stop but then for some reason it got pushed to the back of the drawer and newer ones took its place. After some digging about in my makeup drawers however, I came across Angel from MAC and have fallen back in love with it.

This was the first MAC lipstick that I ever bought and I was drawn to the lovely pale, rose pink shade. I think the colour really suits my pale skin tone but I imagine it’s one of those lipsticks that will look good on everyone. It has quite a smooth and creamy texture and you can build the colour up as it does start out quite sheer. The staying power is good, although not the best I’ve come across, but on the plus side it doesn’t dry out my lips too much.

I think this is such a wearable lipstick and is a great one for every day. I don’t tend to get through lipsticks very often but as you can see from the photo I’m nearly at the end of this one. It is definitely one I will be buying again though when it runs out as it is my go to lipstick at the moment!

Have any of you guys tried Angel from MAC? What are your favourite MAC lipsticks?

NOTD OPI Pedal Faster Suzi

Hi everyone,

I was feeling particularly girly the other day so decided to go for this lovely pale pink colour for my nails. Pedal Fast Suzi is from the 2012 OPI Holland Collection and is perfect for all the girly girls out there.

This is quite a sheer polish so I ended up applying three coats to get it to look like it does in the photograph.  It also has a subtle silver shimmer running through it which I decided to enhance by applying a coat of Barry M’s Pink Iridescent over the top for a bit of extra sparkle :)

Although OPI varnishes are a bit more on the expensive side, I definitely think they are worth the money and they have some really nice shades to choose from. I really love this combo and can see that I will be wearing it a lot in the coming weeks.

What polish combos are you loving at the moment?

Everyday Makeup

Hi everyone,

I have seen quite a few FOTD posts and some everyday makeup posts and thought it was interesting to see which products people like enough to use on a daily basis. So for that reason I thought I'd share with you my everyday makeup products that I always go back to :)

Revlon PhotoReady Primer £11.99

I really like this primer as I actually notice a difference in the finish of my makeup when I use it and it does help my makeup last longer throughout the day. I have also been using the Bourjois Bronzing Primer recently which I like for summer but I always end up going back to the Revlon one.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (£28.50) or Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation £27)

I have used Estée Lauder for years and I never thought I'd find a foundation that I like as much as this one. However, I have recently discovered the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation which I am liking for summer as it is lighter on the skin for the hot weather. You can read a full review of the Urban Decay foundation here.

Clinique Almost  Powder Makeup (£23)

This is another product that I have used for years and will always go back to :) it provides a decent amount of coverage and helps my skin stay shine free throughout the day. I have used so many different powders but I haven't found any that would replace the Climique one in my day to day routine.

MAC Pink Swoon Blusher (£17.50)

I tend to switch between blushers depending on how I feel on that particular day but Pink Swoon is one of the ones that I use most often. It looks quite bright in the pan but goes on really naturally to give a subtle glow. You can read a full review of this product here.

Benefits Watts Up Highlighter (£24.50)

This is my favourite highlighter at the minute and I love the natural glow it provides. It is a little on the expensive side but I definitely think its worth spending that but more on and it lasts ages too!

Bourjois Khol and Contour Eyeliner (£5.49)

I don't tend to spend too much on eyeliners as I think you can get a decent one for a few pounds. This one for Bourjois glides on really smoothly and the pencil sharpener on the lid is really handy as well.

Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara (£6.29)

I was a firm fan of Lancôme Hypnose Drama for ages but it has been replaced by Doll'd Up for the time being. At over half the price of Lancôme, the Sventeen mascara is really purse friendly and it makes my lashes look so long and full of volume :)

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil (£2.99)

I really like this eyebrow pencil from Rimmel and think it proves that you don't have to spend a fortune on a good eyebrow pencil or kit. I've had a few comments from people asking if I use Benefits Brow Zings or  the MAC eyebrow kit and they are always surprised when I tell them it's this Rimmel pencil!

Bodycare Eyebrow Gel (99p)

Another bargain product for my eyebrows is this gel from the Bodycare shop. I think it's really meant for your eyelashes but it works just as well at setting your eyebrows in place after filling them in with the pencil.

So there you have my daily face! I sometimes wear lipstick too but not really if I'm just going to work or anything like that. I tend to spend a bit more on foundations and powder as well and buy cheap eyeliners, mascaras etc.

Which products do you use on a daily basis? Please feel free to leave your links to any daily makeup posts :)
