Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Perfume

Hi guys,

It's been difficult to blog this week as not only has work been absolutely manic leaving me shattered every night, but my laptop has broken! :( It has been sent off for repair so in the meantime I'm having to use my iPad and try and get a quick min on my boyfriend’s laptop when he's not using it. Hopefully mine will be returned quickly as I didn't realise just how much I use it until it went!

To get me back in the blogging mind frame I thought I would write a quick post about my favourite ever perfume, Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay. I have mentioned this perfume before but I sprayed some on a couple of mornings ago and thought, this perfume is just so lovely! I was given it by my boyfriend for Christmas and it just brings back such happy memories of being with family and friends at Christmas time. It's weird how a smell can evoke such strong memories and just make you feel generally happy!

I'm terrible at describing scents so the best thing I can say is just go and smell it! You won't be disappointed :) If I had to give it a go though the two words I would use are fruity and luxurious and it really does smell like blackberries and bay. You know when scents are named, for example strawberry, but they smell nothing like it? Well this smells just like blackberries and bay to me.

So enough of my going on about how amazing this perfume is but I've just never come across one that I have loved so much!

Which are your favourite Jo Malone perfumes? Have you tried Blackberry and Bay?

Thanks for reading, hope you all have a lovely weekend :) xx

NOTD Barry M Gelly Vanrish in Sugar Apple

Hi everyone,

Today’s NOTD is courtesy of Barry M and their mint green polish, Sugar Apple. I was immediately drawn to this polish as I have been loving pastel colours recently and this one seemed like a bit of a dupe of Essie’s Mint Candy Apple.

I have to say the colour is perhaps a little brighter than I had anticipated but I love it none the less and think it is a gorgeous shade for spring / summer. I was however, a little disappointed with the formula of this varnish as it is quite watery. It applied really streaky and I have had to use three coats to make it look more even. I haven’t had a problem with Barry M nail varnishes in the past so I was quite surprised that it didn’t live up to its usual standards.

I thought a silver sparkly polish would look fab with this shade so I borrowed Radiance by OPI from a friend to use on an accent finger.

What do you think of the Barry M nail varnishes? Have you tried this colour?

Thanks for reading xx

Uniq One All In One Treatment Review

Hi everyone,

Today’s post is a quick review of the Uniq One All in One Hair Treatment which my hairdresser persuaded me to buy a few months ago. I can’t remember how much I paid for it but I’ve seen a range of prices online, mostly between £8 and £11 for 150ml.

Uniq One is a spray treatment which you apply to damp hair and leave in to work its magic! It claims to have ten benefits to your hair which are:

1.    Repair dry and damaged hair
2.    Shine and frizz control
3.    Heat protection
4.    Silkiness and smoothness
5.    Hair colour protection with UVA and UVB filters
6.    Easier brushing and straightening
7.    Detangling
8.    Longer lasting hair styles
9.    Split end prevention
10. Adds body

I have really been enjoying using this spray and think it has really helped the condition of my hair. Out of all the benefits it claims to provide I have definitely noticed that my hair is a lot smoother and softer feeling after I have used this spray. I have also noticed that it’s so much easier to brush through after washing and I completely agree that it helps with shine and frizz. One thing not on the list is the gorgeous smell of this spray! There are two scents available, and original one and a lovely coconut one which is the one I went for and smells like holidays!

The only benefits on the list that  I perhaps would question are the longer lasting hair styles and hair colour protection, although I do find this one rather difficult to measure. The only other downside is that it can make your hair a little greasy looking if you use too much. I usually only spray about three sprays and that is plenty on my hair.

I have been using the Uniq One more than my Moroccan Oil recently and have noticed a positive difference in the condition of my hair. It is also reasonably priced and the 150ml bottle lasts a long time as you only need a couple of sprays each time you use it.

Have you tried Uniq One? What did you think of it?

Thanks for reading xx
