Holiday Haul

Hi guys,

I have now been back from my holidays to France for three days and it already feels like I was never away! We had an amazing time though and were so lucky with the weather, although my tan didn’t turn out quite as I hoped!

Whilst I was away I bought a few bits and bobs that I thought would be nice to share on my blog. I didn’t buy a lot; lucky for my bank balance the Sephora there was only small but we did drag ourselves away from the beach a few days to have a mooch round the towns and in the shops.

I will probably review the Sephora products over the next few weeks but I can’t wait to try them out. The perfumes I got from a lovely little beauty shop and they smell so fruity and delicious. I really wanted to get them all but limited myself to the raspberry and peach scents.

We went past an Accessorize and there was 70% sale on and a decent amount was in the sale as well. I had seen the owl earrings here in England and nearly bought them at full price so I was so happy to find them in the sale!

The blue and white trousers and the cream top are from H&M and I have seen them both in the UK stores as well since I have been back. I also bought a lovely little dress from the market that we went to but I am going to do an outfit of the day post on it as I wore it for my friend’s hen party on Saturday.

So that’s my little haul from my holiday to France. I enjoyed the holiday so much and really hope we can go back again soon.

Where are you off to on your holidays this year? If you have written a holiday haul post then please leave your links in the comments as I’d love to have a nosy at what you all bought :)

Thanks for reading xx

Bourjois Shine Edition Oh My Doll

Hi everyone,

In summer I prefer a lighter lipstick, something that is more like a tinted balm but still has a decent colour pay off, and the Bourjois Shine Editions have been a firm favourite recently. I picked up the shade Oh My Doll whilst in Boots last week which is a lovely girly pale pink colour that has a very slight shimmer to it.

I wrote a review of the Shine Edition lipsticks back in November last year when I bought the shade Grenade In. For that reason I won’t go on about this one too much as you can read all about the formula and my thoughts on it here :)

I would just say though that I think this shade will be one I go to a lot for an everyday look. It is a more sheer than the Grenade In one which is quite a deep berry colour but I think this is a much better shade for summer. Plus how cute is that packaging?!

Have you tried the Shine Edition lip products? What did you think?

Thanks for reading and have a fab weekend! xx

Top 5 Highlighters

Hi everyone,

Recently I have been really into trying out different highlighters as I think they can transform the look of your makeup and give you a lovely, healthy glow. I have tried and tested quite a few now so I thought I would put my research to good use and give you guys a run down of my top 5 highlighters.

1)   Benefit Watts Up - £24.50 at Boots

This is my absolute favourite highlighter at the moment and I have been using it pretty much every day recently. It is a lovely peachy champagne colour with a cream to powder finish and it gives the skin a really natural looking glow. I wasn’t sure if a champagne shade would suit my pale complexion at first but having used it I think it would suit most skin tones.

2)   Topshop Sunbeam - £10

Now this one looks a bit scary in the pan but it blends really nicely into the skin so you can either have a subtle glow or build it up for a more dramatic look. It looks lovely with blushers that have a golden tone to them such as Nars Orgasm or Lustre and it is a really good one if you are going for a bronzed goddess look.

3)   Benefit High Beam - £19.50 at Boots

This is one that I have been using for years and years and is the first ever highlighter I bought. It looks like a little nail polish and has a silky pink finish. I apply it by dotting three little spots along my cheek bone and one under my brow bone and then gently dab it into the skin. This small pot will last you absolutely ages as well so although it is a little bit pricey it is definitely worth the money.

4)   Topshop Crescent Moon - £10

Another Topshop fave, this one is also quite highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. It has a more pearly finish and is quite similar to the Watts Up highlighter in colour. I have just checked the website and it does say that this one is no longer available but there are some similar looking highlighters on there if you do like the look of it.

5)   MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush - £15.50

This highlighter has a much pinker undertone to it than any of the others that I have mentioned and makes your skin look really fresh and healthy without being too over the top. It has really good staying power for a cream based product, even on my skin which is fairly oily in places.

So there you have my top 5 highlighters at the moment. My favorites do change quite frequently but these ones always remain up there as the ones that I use the most and always come back to.

Which is your favourite highlighter? Have you tied any of the ones that I have mentioned?

Thanks for reading xx
