Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder Review

Hi everyone,

As you may have noticed if you have seen some of my recent blog posts, my current obsession is with getting lovely, glowing skin. I have been trying numerous products to help achieve this but one of my favourites at the moment is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector pressed powder. This product had been on my wish list forever but the £32 price tag seriously put me off until I was given some money for my birthday and decided to splash out.

This highlighter has become a bit of a cult beauty product but I wasn’t sure it could live up to the hype. There are six shades available and after a ton of umming and ahhing I eventually decided to go for Moonstone which is a pale champagne colour. I already have the liquid version of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in this shade so I knew that it suited my skin tone and was a safe bet.

I have been using the highlighter in two ways, often just applying it to my cheekbones, brow bones, cupids bow and down the centre of the nose, but also applying a light dusting all over from time to time. The texture is so fine and soft which makes it feel lovely on the skin and really easy to blend. You won’t find any chunks of shimmer or glitter making the glow it provides look so natural but it’s also highly pigmented so you only need a tiny amount. Although it’s a pricey product, I can see this one pan lasting years as you can get away with using so little.

For me this product gives the perfect ‘lit from within’ type of glow, rather than a shimmery or glittery, false looking effect. I love applying it all over (making sure not to go too OTT!) to make my skin look more alive and combat any dullness. Although it is expensive, with this one I think you get what you pay for and you can definitely tell that it’s a high quality product.

Have you tried the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector? Do you know of any other similar products that you would recommend?

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx

  5. This highlighter does sound very impressive and I love the ways in which you've been applying it! I'm using one by Benefit right now, though I'm keen to switch from liquid to pressed powder at some point - to at least see the difference! :)

  9. @Gabrielle I really like Benefit Watts Up and High Beam but I do like to use a powder highlighter for long days at work and things just because I can trust them to last longer :) x
