Lifestyle Tag

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a bit of a disaster this week (maybe slightly dramatic!) and after spending ages taking photos for my next few blog posts, my SD card seems to have become corrupt and I have lost them all!! I’m so gutted, especially because I am away in London this weekend and didn’t have time to retake the ones for today’s post. I still wanted to post something though so when I came across the lifestyle tag on Adele’s blog (take a look, her blog is lovely) I thought I would give it a go. I like reading these types of tags as I think you get to know the blogger a little more so I hope you feel the same and enjoy this post too :)

What are you wearing?

Black skinny jeans and a stripy shirt.

Ever had a terrible break up?

I’m very lucky and have been with my boyfriend since I was 16 so he is the only boyfriend I have ever had.

How tall are you?

5ft 5ish

How much do you weigh?

About 9 stone

Any tattoos?

Nope. I’m far too chicken and also very indecisive so I worry I would love it one week and then hate it the next.

Any piercings?

I have my ears pierced and my left one is pierced at the top as well. My boyfriend hates that one and always asks when I’m going to take it out but I just wear a little clear stone stud and I love it.

Favourite show?

All-time favourites are Friends and Sex and the City but currently I’m just getting into Pretty Little Liars. I know, I know I’m way behind on this and I’m only on season 3 so no spoilers please!!

Favourite band?

I have been brainwashed since I was a small child into liking Queen. I remember building a microphone out of Lego and speakers from shoe boxes and dancing round pretending to be Freddie Mercury.

Something you miss?

Getting a bit deep here but I miss when my mum and dad were still together.

Favourite song?

My favourite song changes all the time. At the minute I’m obsessed with Beyoncé’s Lemonade album and my favourite songs off it are Freedom and Sorry.

How old are you?

27 but I don’t feel it at all, I still feel like I’m about 17!

Zodiac sign?

Aquarius

Quality you look for in a partner?

Someone that is trustworthy.

Favourite Quote?

“In order to carry a positive action we must develop first a positive vision.” Dalai Lama

Favourite actor?

To be honest I don’t really have a favourite actor. Is that boring?

Favourite colour?

Pink – I’m very much a girly girl :)

Loud or soft music?

I think loud most of the time.

Where do you go when you’re sad?

To my conservatory to cuddle my little rabbits Billy and Bluebell. They are so cute and always cheer me up.

How long does it take you to shower?

About 15 minutes I’d say.

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

Ages!! I faff too much in the morning so I get up an hour and a half before I need to leave the house and I always end up in a rush even then.

Ever been in a physical fight?

Thankfully not.

Turn on?

I really like strong shoulders and shoulder blades on a man… is that weird??

Turn off?

Someone bossy who always thinks they are right or someone who tells you only what you want to hear.

Fears?

Spiders! I’m really terrified of them and we get really big ones at our house as well because we live next to a field.

Last thing that made you cry?

I cried last night because I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything at the moment (getting deep again!)

Last time you said you loved someone?

This morning I said I love you to my boyfriend before I left for work.

Last book you read?

The Love Shack by Jane Costello. I loved it and would definitely recommend it if you like a chic lit.

The book you’re currently reading?

Summer Nights at the Moonlight Hotel by Jane Costello. So far I prefer The Love Shack but I haven’t finished yet so I guess that could change.

Last show you watched?

Coronation Street with my mum.

Last person you talked to?

My mum, I went round for my tea tonight.

The relationship between you and the person you last texted?

My friend who is also my boyfriend’s sister. We are going to London tomorrow (or yesterday when you read this!) and need to make plans!

Favourite food?

Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate! Although at the moment I love anything cookie dough related too.

Place you want to visit?

I’d like to go back to America. Maybe San Francisco I think.

Last place you were?

Barbados! It was amazing and a true paradise.

Last time you kissed someone?

This morning, again saying goodbye to my boyfriend.

Last time you were insulted?

The other day I got told I had a big nose!! The person didn’t even say it jokingly or anything.

Favourite flavour of sweet?

I love raspberry or apple flavoured sweets although I always prefer chocolate.

What instruments do you play?

I used to play the flute and piano but I probably can’t remember much of it. I’d like to have piano lessons again though.

Favourite piece of jewellery?

I have two rings that I always wear. One was a present from my mum and dad when I was 18 and one my boyfriend got me (I’d just like to point out that it is not an engagement ring!)

Last sport you played?

Hahaha… sport? What’s that? I’ve been really bad at exercising recently but I did go to the gym on Tuesday for the first time since I joined in May.

Last song you sang?

Don’t Hurt Yourself by Beyoncé this morning in the car on the way to work.

Favourite chat up line?

I hate chat up lines and never use them. I wouldn’t like it if someone used a chat up line on me.

Have you ever used it?

Answered above but to be honest I’m struggling to think of a chat up line.
Last time you hung out with anyone?

With my mum tonight (Friday when I’m writing this). I went round for my tea and it was lovely :)

Who should answer these questions next?

As Adele said in her post, anyone who fancies giving the tag a try should do it and let me know so I can read your answers!

I know this post is a little different for me but I hope you enjoyed it anyway and please let me know if you decided to give it a go yourself :) I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx

Rimmel #Insta Flawless Review

Hi everyone,

I absolutely love my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector but it is a little on the pricey side for what it is and therefore I begrudge wearing it on a daily basis just to work and things. That’s why when I came across the Rimmel #Insta Flawless Perfecting Skin Tint for £6.99 at Boots I thought I may have found the perfect cheaper alternative.

The aim of the product is to give skin a natural looking glow and erase any signs of fatigue by brightening and lifting the skin tone whilst also providing 24 hour hydration. There are two shades available, a light medium and a medium dark, of which I picked up the lighter option.

The first thing I noticed was that it is important to use only a small amount to avoid looking a little orange or too glowing! A little goes a long way and if you get it right your skin really does finish up looking fresh and luminous. I don’t think it is a product that I would wear alone as I find it makes me look a little greasy but under my foundation I think it gives just the right amount of glow. I have oily combination skin but those that have very oily skin may find this to be a little much for them.

I was worried that a product like this would compromise the amount of time my makeup stayed in place during the day but I have to say I didn’t notice any significant difference when using it. As far as the moisturising aspect of the tint goes, I wouldn’t say that it provided 24 hour hydration although, like many people, I have never worn my makeup for a full 24 hours to test it completely. It does feel smooth and soft on the skin but it didn’t give a great deal of hydration. For me however, this wouldn’t be the main reason for using the product anyway and would just be more of an added bonus.

The packaging is something that I’m not overly struck on as I find it a little cheap looking but as long as the product inside it OK then I can live with it not looking the prettiest.

I wouldn’t say that the Rimmel Skin Tint is an exact dupe for the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector as they are different in a few ways. I have the Becca one in the shade Moonstone and the Rimmel shade is darker, despite getting the lighter option. I also noticed that the Becca Skin Perfector is slightly more shimmery whereas I’d say the Rimmel one just has more of a glow to it. However, overall if you’re looking for a similar product but don’t want to pay for something from a higher end brand like Becca, then I would really recommend giving this a try.

Have you tried the Rimmel #Insta Flawless Perfecting Skin Tint? Do you like using products like this?

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx

PS. On a bit of a side note, I just wanted to mention that I will be reducing the amount of blog posts I put up to one a week which will go up on a Sunday. I have been finding it difficult to keep up with everything recently with working full time and a lot of other things going on at the moment. As I was trying to cram everything in, I just felt like I was getting a lot less enjoyment out of the things I used to love so I have made the decision to cut back in some areas. I will still be posting new content every Sunday and hopefully this will give me the opportunity to make my posts a little better and also give me more time to read other blogs which I have always loved doing. Some weeks there may be a Wednesday post but didn’t want to put pressure on to do it every week. I will see how it goes anyway and may go back to two posts if I find I'm missing it too much!
