Hi everyone!
Today I’m looking at the Revlon Ultra
HD lipsticks which were a bit of an impulse buy for me last week whilst I was
shopping in Manchester. I was helping my mum pick some new lipsticks when these
caught my eye and at two for £10 how could I resist?!
Revlon say that these lipsticks use ‘revolutionary wax-free gel technology for
true color clarity in one smooth swipe’ which sounds pretty impressive but
do they live up to the claims? There are 20 gorgeous shades in the range, all
of which have lovely flower related names, and I found it quite difficult to
choose just two as I really liked them all! In the end though I went for the
colours Rose, which is a really nice dark nude, pink shade, and Hibiscus which
is more of an orange / coral colour.
The texture of these lipsticks is
something that really impressed me as they are so smooth and creamy on the
lips. The only thing I did notice was that it clung to any dry patches that I
had and made them all the more noticeable. For that reason, I would definitely recommend
using a lip scrub or balm beforehand to make sure they go on evenly and don’t look
patchy. The pigmentation is good with both the shades that I tried so you only
really need one or two swipes to get a decent colour payoff. Having said that,
I found that the colour didn’t stay on my lips as long as I had hoped and I
found myself topping it up quite regularly. The smell also isn’t my favourite
but I didn’t notice it after I have applied it as it seems to fade away.
I have seen a lot of complaints online
about the packaging of this product and I do have to agree to some extent. I’m
not as bothered by the clear tube and actually think it looks quite sleek but
the fact that the lipstick doesn’t twist all the way down and it still peeps
above the top of the packaging is a bit of a problem. I have on more than one occasion
smushed the lid into the lipstick making a mushy mess and taking off chunks of
the product which is really annoying, especially as it is something that I’m
sure could have been easily sorted! I’m also not a huge fan of the squared off
ending of the lipstick and find it harder to apply than the usual pointed end.
Overall I do really like these
lipsticks, although there are some issues, such as the package and the smell, which
could easily be ironed out if Revlon wanted to. I would buy these lipsticks
again as I really like the formula and the shades that are available in the
range and for me the problems are only minor.
Have you tried the Revlon Ultra HD
lipsticks? What do you think of them?
Thanks for reading,
Hannah xx
I have read too many mediocre and bad reviews on these which is why I stayed away from it. I am also very clumsy so I would probably destroy the lipstick within 5 minutes after purchase. LOL!

@Shireen L. Platt Haha it is a bit of a nightmare with the packaging and such a simple thing that they've got wrong which is a shame. Hopefully they will improve the packaging next time! X
