Hi everyone,
Pastel shades are some of my
favourites for this time of year. I just think they are so pretty and girly as
well as being really easy to wear. Here is a rundown of my top 5 at the
moment……
From left to right Barry M Sugar Apple, Essie Angel Food, Sinful Colours Glass Pink, Barry M Prickly Pear and Tanya Burr Peaches and Cream. |
1) Barry
M Gelly polish in Sugar Apple
I would describe this shade as a mint green although it looks quite blue in the photo. Mint green is easily up
there with my favourite colours so this polish was always going to be right up
my street and I think Barry M polishes are great for the price. I’m
not sure about the Gelly aspect with this range but overall they are definitely worth
trying out.
2) Essie
Angel Food
Angel Food is a very pale pink / off
white colour. This polish can be quite difficult to apply which I do tend to
find with a lot of pastel or milky coloured nail varnishes. I have found it
best to apply it in very thin layers and add more coats rather than trying to
go in with a large dollop of polish all at once.
3) Sinful
Colours Glass Pink
You need a few coats to really make
this shade show up properly but it is such a pretty colour and I had to include
a bit of sparkle somewhere. The Sinful Colours range are another great cheaper
brand but I haven’t seen them around in Boots as much lately which is a shame.
4) Barry
M Prickly Pear
To be honest, all the Barry M pastel polish
are really lovely and if you’re after nail polishes on a budget, then this
would be my go-to brand. I’m not usually a huge fan of purple shades for my
nails but I think every collection needs a pale purple / lilac and I always get
so many compliments when I wear it.
5) Tanya
Burr Peaches and Cream
This polish is my go-to one for when I
feel like wearing something a little more sophisticated but still girly. It is
a gorgeous pale peach shade that goes with almost any outfit and is perfect for
all year round. Again, it has shown up a little darker on the photos and when you actually see it, it comes up much paler.
Which are your favourite nail polishes
at the moment? Do you like pastel shades or something a bit brighter?

I really love the shimmer in the Sinful Colours one, you can't beat a bit of sparkle in my book! :) x
DeleteI love these pastel shades as I find them quite wearable infact. Barry M Sugar Apple definitely seems like one I want to try :)
ReplyDeleteVelvet Blush
Sugar Apple is one that's a little different for me as I tend to stick to pink and red shades but it's just so pretty and one I wear so much x
DeleteI think my heart skipped a couple of beats when I saw Sugar Apple! Do you know any dupes for it? We don't have Barry M here in Canada. :-(

@Shireen L. Platt It's such a shame that you don't have Barry M in Canada :( I haven't tried it myself but when you mentioned a dupe Essie's Candy Mint Apple sprang to mind. Also a little on the pricey side but Chanel Nouvelle Vague is really pretty :) x
