Backcomb in a Bottle!

Hi everyone :)
I recently took a trip to the hairdressers to get my hair done for a night out and bought the ‘Backcomb in a Bottle’ on the recommendation of the stylist. My hair is quite fine so I sometimes have trouble getting some volume into it and making the look last, so I thought this product might help with the problem.

How to use the spray....
To use the ‘What a Tease’ spray, I take a small section of hair and lift it up before spraying a very small amount of product at the roots of the hair, leaving it kind on stood up on end! Next I simply smooth over the top and that’s really all there is too it. If you want an extra boost you can backcomb it a couple of times before smoothing it over but I’ve found I don’t really need to do this step and the spray alone adds enough volume.

 What I like about it....

I really like this spray as it does exactly what it says on the tin! I was amazed at the results after the hairdresser had completed the look for my night out as it was transformed from fine and limp to voluminous and full with the spray of a can. It does take practice to use this product as it can be a bit tricky to work with at the start and using too much will leave your hair in a big tangled, sticky mess (believe me it’s a nightmare to fix again!)  You really do only need a very small amount but that only makes the product last longer in my eyes and gives you better value for money. Your hair won’t budge an inch after using this spray and that’s coming from someone whose hair usually falls flat after a couple of hours or so.
What I don’t like...
As I mentioned above this product can be quite tricky to work with at the start and if you overspray you’re going to have trouble getting it out again as it won’t comb out at all. Therefore, you need to make sure you’re happy with the overall look of your hair before you start spraying. Having said that, with a little practice it does get easier to find a balance between too much and not enough and you’ll eventually find what works best for you. The smell of the spray is also a bit of a put off as it smells quite strong and chemical like. For that reason I have found myself spritzing some other hairspray over the top to try and make sure my hair smells a bit nicer. I have had a bit of trouble with the nozzle clogging up too which is a pain but you can clean it up just by running a bit of hot water over it and cleaning it with a damp cloth or tissue.
Overall....
Overall this product is pretty much a super strong hairspray but if like me, your hair is quite fine and you struggle to add more volume, then this might be a good product for you to try. The main thing is to remember to use it sparingly and in small selected areas as it’s definitely not a product you could spray all over and then style your hair afterwards. If you manage to get the amount right however, your hair will stay put for hours on end and you won’t have to worry about it falling half way through the day. I definitely think practice makes perfect with this one so if doesn’t go right the first time you use it, stick with it as I think it’s worth it in the end.
Have any of you guys tried the ‘Backcomb in a Bottle’? I’d love to hear what you thought of it or if there are any other volumising hair products you would recommend :)
Thanks for reading,
BBx
