Hair Straightening Ban! Three Week Mark :)

Hi there,

As you may have seen in one of my posts a while back, I have put myself on a strict hair straightening ban! Drastic measures had to be taken as my hair was getting so thin and damaged from too mch straightening so I decided to ditch the straighteners for at least three weeks and try and look after my hair a bit better. I am happy to say that today is the three week mark and I have not straightened my hair at all in this time, not even for a night out!

I have found it quite difficult to style my hair and have mainly been sticking to two hair styles which are down and curly (which you can see how I style in this post) and tied back in a bun with a French plait at the front. I used a hair doughnut to get the bun and have been accessorising with cute bow bobbles and clips to try and vary the style slightly.

I have noticed an improvement in the condition of my hair since I stopped straightening it every day and I think it has grown a bit more as well. Even though I have reached the three week mark I am going to carry on not using the straighteners for as long as I can as I think my hair definitely needs this break.

If you have any tips on good hair styles for when you’re not using straighteners please let me
know in the comments box :)

Thanks for reading xx

  1. It's a great idea to give your hair a break,
nothing beats a good old haircut though.
I had a few inches removed not so long back and it feels so much healthier.
I always like a quick and simple ponytail when I can't be bothered to do anything but the French plait looks a lot prettier!

  3. @Sharon Taylor I have been thinking about cutting a good couple of inches off recently to try and help the condition but I'm trying to grow it so I'm really reluctant. I'll have a word with the hairdresser next time I go and see if they think it needs it :) Thanks for the tip xx

  4. @Sarah-Jane Dale Thank you, I'll try :) I just find it really difficult not to just reach for the straighteners when I'm having a bad hair day! xx

  6. Love the thin braid across the front - such a cute look, and always very healthy to give your hair a break from the heat!
