My Morning Routine

Hi guys,

I always love having a nosy at peoples’ 'get ready with me’ and ‘my routine’ videos and blog posts, even though I’m not entirely sure what it is I like about them! I think it’s just that it is an insight into other people and their day to day lives and I always like to see which products they are using on a daily basis as well. I haven’t written any posts like this before so I thought I would give it a go and start with a ‘my morning routine’ blog post.

In a morning as soon as I get out of bed I jump in the shower. I feel like it helps wake me up and warm me up in winter as well! At the moment I am loving the Marks and Spencers shower gels and my favourite scent is Fleur d’Orangier which is a sweet orange and petitgrain fragrance. I also like to use the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Cleanser which I featured along with the M&S shower gel in my October favourites post.

After showering I throw on my cosiest dressing gown and make myself some breakfast. Again I always have breakfast soon after getting up as I think it helps wake me up and gives me a bit more energy! At the moment I am having Weetabix pretty much everyday, boring I know but I just seem to be liking them a lot recently!

After breakfast it’s time to brush my teeth and do my makeup. When I am going to work I pretty much stick to the same makeup look and leave any experimenting for when I have more time on my days off or if I’m going on a night out. My go to makeup products at the moment are:
-          Maxfactor Facefinity Primer (£10.99)
-          Nars Sheer Glow foundation (£31)
-          Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer (£5.49)
-          Clinique Almost Powder Makeup (£24.50)
-          Urban Decay Naked Flushed palettes for bronzer, blusher and highlighter (£22)
-          Bourjois Khol and Contour Eyeliner (£4.99)
-          Bourjois Volume 1 Second Mascara (£9.99)
-          Benefit Brow Zings (£24.50)

I really don’t dare add all that up! I do feel that I use a good mix of high end and high street products though and like to invest more in my base products such as foundation and powder and save on things like eyeliner and mascara.

So once I have put my makeup on I move on to my hair. As I am trying to cut down on the amount of heat I am using, I have been putting my hair up in a bun a lot recently as it just keeps it off my face at work and it’s so quick and easy to do. I use a doughnut to help plump it out as my hair isn’t thick enough to get a full looking bun on its own and then I usually French plait my fringe. I have written a post on my hair care routine here if you would like to read more.

Then all that’s left to do is get dressed! If I’m going to work I usually plan my outfit the night before or else I can never decide or I end up having to iron things in a rush. If I’m off work though I just see what I feel like wearing in the morning and see what the weather is like!

So that’s my morning routine! Is your routine similar to mine? Which makeup products do you use on a day to day basis? If you have written similar posts leave your links in the comments below as I’d love to have a nosy.

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx

  3. @Photo-Jenn-ic Aw I'm glad you enjoyed it :) M&S have some fab beauty products in at the moment! I got talking to one of the assistants there and she was saying that eventually they would like to build up the beauty hall to rival Debenhams and Boots! xx
