Product Empties

Hi everyone!

I have never done an empties post before, mostly because I always forget to save the empty packaging! However, recently quite a few things that I have been using have all run out at the same time and I have actually remembered to photograph the products before I throw them away this time. So here are the products that I have managed to get to the end of (usually I get bored half way through and try something different) and what I thought of them.

1) Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan in Medium Matte

I have gone through bottles and bottles of this stuff this summer! I have been using this a lot to tan my legs in particular as I have been wearing a lot of dresses to work and it’s been far too warm for tights. I love the natural golden glow it gives my skin and it’s so easy to apply. The only downside I have found is that although it claims to be transfer resistant, I do find it rubs off onto my clothes and things if I’m not careful. It also claims to be water resistant but in the rain it ran like nobody’s business and I was left with a streaky mess.

2)  Dot perfume by Marc Jacobs

I actually won this perfume when I won Employee of the Month at work a while ago and I’m sad I have come to the end of it as I really liked it. Marc Jacobs perfumes are some of my favourites and I always love the extravagant bottles which look so pretty on a dressing table. This fragrance includes notes of red berries, dragonfruit and honeysuckle with a heart of jasmine, coconut water and orange blossom before concluding with notes of vanilla, driftwood and musk. I think it’s a lovely summer scent and one that I would definitely want to repurchase.

3)  Clinique High Impact Mascara

This was a sample sized free gift that I got from Clinique but I have had this mascara before and I would definitely buy it again. This is one that I don’t hear very much about in the blogging world but I don’t know why as I think it’s fab. It provides volume and length without clumping or smudging and will last through a long day at work which is always my ultimate test!

4)  Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

I have been using this concealer for under my eyes and it has quickly become a firm favourite. It completely covers any dark circles you have whilst making your skin look healthy and more radiant and it won’t crease or slide off throughout the day either. I have tried a few under eye concealers recently including Rimmel Wake Me Up, Avon Magix Multi-Benefit Illuminator and Revlon Photo Ready Eye Primer and Brightener, but this is by far my favourite and most used.

5)  Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara

I won’t go on too much about this one as you can read a full review of it here. I have reached the end of this mascara but I’m not sure it is one I would buy again as I found it to be a bit hit and miss.

And that’s everything! I hope you enjoyed my first empties post and please feel free to leave a comment telling me what you thought of it. Also leave a link to any of your empties posts as I’d love to take a look.

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx

  1. I love Marc Jacobs perfumes too. My favourite is the Daisy Sorbet or Original Daisy and I agree they are so pretty :)
I really like reading product empty posts as you can a better view on the product because it's been fully used. x

  2. I do like the Tarte mascara but yes, as time passes by it starts getting really clumpy and I have to wipe off the excess again and again which is such a waste. I've never done a empties post because I can't stand keeping all the empty packaging.

  3. @Natasha Oooh I haven't smelt the Daisy Sorbet one before but it sounds really nice :) I like empties posts too and can't believe it's take me this long to get round to writing one myself. I'll have to try and save more empty packaging from now on! xx

  4. @Shireen L. Platt I'm really bad at remembering to keep empty packaging and just automatically throw it away! I'm going to make more of an effort to keep it going forward though so I can do more empties posts. It's disappointing about the Tarte mascara as it could be so good! I just can't justify keep getting it though when the clumping drives me so mad x
