Date Night Makeup Look

Hi everyone,

So this post is a little different for me but I have been wearing this makeup look a lot recently so I thought I would branch out and share it on my blog. I wore this look for a date night with my boyfriend last week and think it strikes a great balance between being more than an everyday look but not quite as glam as I would go for on a night out.

Face

I started off using the Max Factor Facefinity primer which I absolutely love and is a staple in my everyday makeup routine. I couldn’t be without a primer as makeup tends to just slide off my skin but this one really helps it stay in place and last all day (or night!). I then added some Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector and just blended it all over with my fingers. For foundation I used the Estée Lauder Double Wear as it gives great coverage but it’s not one I would recommend if you’re going to be taking loads of photos. I blended this in using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to get an even and flawless finish before adding Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer to hide any dark under eye circles. Next up I used Estée Lauder Double Wear concealer to cover up any blemishes or redness which I tend to get around my nose and blended this is with the Sephora makeup sponge.

Eyes

So now I have my base I move onto my eye makeup. I know I should probably wait to conceal under my eyes until after applying my eyeshadow but I find when I apply my powder later on it sweeps away any fallout anyway. I have been using the Benefit World Famous Neutrals eyeshadow palette (review here) tons recently as I find you can create so many different looks with it. I started by applying My Two Cents which is a lovely, creamy copper shade all over the eyelid before blending Kiss Me, I’m Tipsy into the crease. I then felt like it needed something else so I dabbed a little Guilt-Y Pleasure into the centre of my eyelid for a little golden shimmer and some Barry M Gitter Dust in shade number 15 (although I’ve just realised it says ‘not for around the eyes’ on the bottom of the pot!) in the inner corners. For eyeliner I applied Bourjois Kohl and Contour into my water line and Intuitive Liner along my upper lash line. I’m not the best at applying eyeliner so I find this one from Bourjois great and so easy to use. Finally I added tons of Lancôme Hypnôse Drama to my top lashes and Clinique Bottom Lash to the bottom! If I was going for a more dramatic look I might also have applied a few individual lashes but I didn’t this time.

Cheeks

Once my eye makeup is complete I swept some Rimmel Lasting Finish powder all over my face to set my makeup in place before moving onto bronzer. For this look I used the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette and applied the bronzer all over to get a lovely golden glow. I also used the blusher and highlighter from this set as they are my favourites at the moment and give a really natural look.

Eyebrows

I had my eyebrows waxed and tinted recently so they didn’t need an awful lot doing to them. I just used the Benefit Gimme Brow to fill them in and make them look a little more groomed and defined.

Lips

When I’ve gone for more with my eye makeup I like to stick to a more neutral lip so I steered clear from the lipstick this time and just used my Sephora lipgloss in Miami pink.

And that’s it! I hope you liked this post as I know it’s not my usual sort of thing. If anyone does decided to give it a go I would love to see you pictures or hear what you think of the look so leave your comments below :)

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx
