June Favourites

Hi everyone!

The end of June is upon us and this can only mean one thing, monthly favourites time! I have tried quite a few new products over the last couple of months with some quickly becoming firm favourites while others have slipped by the way side. These are the ones which I have been loving this month…..

H’Suan Wen Hua Hair Moisturiser £9.75

My hair has been feeling a little dry recently so I wanted a hair treatment to help keep my hair in a healthy condition and feeling smooth and silky. Whenever I need something like this at the moment my first port of call is Lush and the assistant recommended the H’Suan Wen Hua hair moisturiser to me. To use this mask you simply put it through the lengths of your hair and leave for 20 minutes before shampooing and conditioning as normal. The mask is full of nourishing ingredients such as eggs, bananas and avocados and leaves your hair feeling so soft and smooth after you have used it. The smell isn’t amazing but I can definitely put up with it for the benefits it provides.

Bath and Body Works Lilac Blossom Candle

This candle smells just like a lovely fresh summer garden and is perfect for this time of year. It contains the scents of lilac blossom, lily of the valley and sweet violet and has quickly become one of my favourite candles ever! I bought my mum two of these candles as well and she loves them too.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector £33

This is a gorgeous shimmering, tinted moisturiser which I have been wearing every single day since I got it. There are five shades to choose from and I went for the second lightest which is Moonstone as I just think it matches my skin tone the best. I really like the glow that this product gives my skin and leaves it looking healthy but not greasy or shiny. I wouldn’t say this is an essential step in my makeup routine but it’s a lovely added extra to make me feel that little bit more special :)

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar £35.50

This moisturiser has had a lot of hype surrounding it and I’m always sceptical about products living up to their expectations but this one certainly did for me. I first tried this when I bought a travel sized version at Sephora but I will definitely be buying the full sized one when this runs out. It’s light weight and doesn’t feel greasy but sinks into the skin effortlessly leaving it feeling smooth and hydrated. I have been looking for a new moisturiser for so long and I’m happy to say I have finally found the one for me.

Bourjois Bronzing Primer £9.99

Since the weather has been a little nicer here in the UK I have been using bronzing and tanning products a lot more and this is a rediscovery that I made recently. Last summer I used this primer non-stop but it was forgotten about and pushed to the back of my makeup drawers over the winter months when I didn’t really need it. Having fished it out again I have fallen back in love with it and have been using it to get a bronzed, glowing look now the sun is out.

Ear Cuffs

I have really been into wearing ear cuffs this month and have built up quite a collection. I have to be careful as some of them do tend to hurt my ears a bit but they are great for added a bit of an edge to an outfit. The one in the photo is from Topshop and I like it because it just clips on so it doesn’t hurt my ear as much as some of the others I have got.

And that’s it for my monthly favourites! Hope you have all had a fab June and are looking forward to whatever July has in store for us. Which products have you loved using this month? Have you tried any from my list?

NOTD Essie Pink Diamond

Hi everyone,

I’m bombarding you all with NOTD posts this month but I have bought so many new polishes recently and some of them are really pretty so I wanted to share them on my blog :)

At the moment I am wearing Essie Pink Diamond which is a gorgeous pale pink shade with a pearly finish. Like the Angel Food polish which I blogged about a couple of weeks ago, this nail varnish is quite difficult to apply without it looking streaky. Thin layers seems to be the key to getting it right but this does require more patience which is something I don’t always have when I’m painting my nails!

Overall this is a really pretty nail polish if you are happy to take your time with it but it’s definitely not one I would reach for if I was in a rush!

What do you think of this colour? Which Essie polishes would you recommend?

Beauty Wish List June 2015

Beauty Wish List June 2015

Hi everyone,

Over the last few days I have been in a real shopping mood! This mood seems to come and go every so often but I quite regularly find myself just wanting to buy everything that I see, especially if it is beauty related. I have bought so much already in the last couple of months so I have decided to try and control my spending by creating a wish list instead of actually putting the things into my basket!

1)  Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer £52

Why couldn’t I be lusting after something a bit cheaper?? This primer is super pricey but is raved about by so many people that I just can’t wait to give it a try. I really wish I had bought this in America now when I saw it for slightly cheaper but I was in the middle of that guilt stage you feel after spending loads when you really shouldn’t, so put it back!

2)  Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup £50

To go with the primer I also really want to try the Hourglass foundation. I haven’t heard as much about this as the primer but when I tested it in Sephora I loved the feel of it and it looked really lovely on the skin. I just don’t know if I can justify over £100 on the two!

3)  Revlon ColourStay Gel Envy Long Wear Nail Enamel £6.99

Something that’s a bit more in my price range is the new gel effect nail polishes from Revlon. The coloured polish is meant to combine a base coat and colour into one so you can skip out the base coat step. This is then followed by a top coat that provides the gel like finish. I am a bit sceptical of these as I have yet to come across a ‘gel like’ polish that does the same, or gives the same effect, as an actual gel but I am intrigued and will definitely have to try them out.

4)  Orofluido Hair Beauty Elixir £19.95

I absolutely love Moroccan Oil and use it consistently as part of my hair care routine. However, my current bottle has almost run out so I am thinking of trying something new for a change and to mix things up so my hair doesn’t get too used to one product. I first discovered Orofluido oil when my hairdresser used it on me and I did really like the way my hair felt afterwards so this could be a strong contender.

5)  Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Shimmering Body Oil £25.50

I'm thinking of ditching the fake tan and embracing my pale skin as it is just such a hassle for me using fake tan every day and I always end up with some patchiness or orange splodge somewhere. I did see this though and think it might be great to spritz on and give me skin a subtle shimmer, plus is smells divine!

6)  Crème De La Mer Lip Balm £42

Another ridiculously expensive product which is why this is on my wish list and not a haul! I don’t think I will ever actually buy this product as I’m sure there are cheaper alternatives that work just as well but a girl can dream!

What do you guys think of the products on my wish list? Have you tried any and would you recommend them?
