Collective Beauty Haul

Hi everyone,

Recently I have been in the mood for shopping quite a lot and have picked up a few things that I thought I would share with you guys. Some of the things I bought online a couple of weeks ago and some I got last weekend in Liverpool. I’ll be testing them out over the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled for a few reviews coming up :)

So here’s me going on about my skin again but Boots recently had a buy one get one free offer on their Tea Tree and Witch Hazel skincare range. I picked up the foaming face wash, back spray, exfoliator and pore strips to try out. I have never come across a back spray before and I don’t actually really get spots on my back but seeing as it was on offer and it’s something I haven’t used before, I thought I would give it a try. I also bought from Boots a new Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara (review here). This must be about my tenth tube of this so beware if you haven’t tried it before and want to give it a go, you will never be able to go back once you’ve started using it!

Not satisfied with the things I had bought from Boots, I then went on the place a Superdrug order. I wanted to stock up on my Sunkissed tan which I have been obsessed with recently (you can check out a review here if you want to know more) and also I needed a new mascara. I went for Maybelline The Falsies and as it was buy one get one half price also Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama which I haven’t tried before.

For the next part of my shopping escapades, last weekend my boyfriend organised a lovely day out including some shopping in Liverpool. Much to his annoyance, I spent quite a while in Boots where I finally got my hands on shade 1 of the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer. I found shade 2 a while ago but this lighter option has always been out of stock whenever I have been in Boots or Superdrug so I was so happy to finally track one down!

My eye was also drawn to BareMinerals which a brand I have been meaning to try for such a long time. However, as a loyal Double Wear customer, I have always been concerned that I just wouldn’t be happy with the level of coverage from a mineral foundation. The assistant at the counter sat me down and talked me through the products and I eventually found myself persuaded to folk out the £27 for the new BarePro foundation. I didn’t buy the brush that is meant to go with it as that would have been a further £24 and I couldn’t see that there wouldn’t be one in my collection already that would do the same job. I will let you guys know how I get on with it in a few weeks when I have had chance to test it out properly but I’m hoping I’m not going to be disappointed.

Finally the last couple of things I picked up were a replacement Rimmel Lasting Finish Powder and the new Dove Style and Care Spray. I actually don’t need a new heat protecting spray but was intrigued as to whether or not this one could match up to the Trevor Sorbie Straight, Protect and Shine Spray that I usually use and love.

Phew.. and that’s everything! I can’t wait to get started in trying out these products and have high hopes that they’ll all prove to be good buys. Have you guys done much shopping recently? What have you been buying?

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx

  3. Oh, I need to try the Clinique mascara then. I've been searching for the perfect mascara for so long! Looks like all the products you have bought will turn out great (or at least I hope so). I haven't done much shopping recently, but as I already mentioned, I need a good mascara.

  4. I've never seen a back spray before either, but I'm curious to give it a try too. I loved the Clinique high impact mascara, and I think I would like their bottom lash mascara too. It's just whether I would wear it often to justify the price, I've actually never tried putting mascara on my bottom lashes yet. Most of the wands I have are quite big, so I would have probably just looked like a racoon. I haven't brought that much recently, apart from a blush, some nail polishes and some Rimmel/maybelline bits I found in poundland :) xx

  11. @Stanislava E. At first I thought the Clinique Bottom Lash mascara was just going to be a bit of a gimmick but now I can't see me not using it. The little wand is so good for separating out the lashes and really making sure you don't miss any out :) x

  12. @Velvet Blush That's one of the reasons I love the Clinique Bottom Lash mascara because it doesn't smudge and is just made for getting those smaller lashes that a bigger wand might miss. I love finding bargains in Poundland and have come across some really good buys in there in the past. I haven't been in a while though so I'll have to go and have a mooch soon! x

  14. @Rachel-Beth I love the powder too and it's one of my all time favourites from the high street :) I'm annoyed though cos I just dropped this one that I bought and it's all broken now! x

  15. @Shelleen I think Liverpool is one of my favourite places to shop at the moment and I have been liking it more than Manchester which is unusual for me. I'm just trying out the bareMinerals foundation so hopefully a review should be up soon :) x

So glad you finally found shade 1 in the Bourjois Concealer :) x

  17. @Natasha I did go a little crazy over the last few weeks and could definitely do with slowing down a bit now haha. So far I have really enjoyed using the Boots Tea Tree range so I might have a look at the other products they do and try them out as well :) x
