Nail Polish Collection - The Berry Series!

Hi everyone,

One thing I am truly guilty of is buying too many nail polishes. I have always had a fascination with nails, nail art and all things related and I am blaming my mum for this one! When I was little I would always go with her when she got her nails done every few weeks and so it was drilled into me from a young age to always have a pretty manicure. I often put up NOTD posts sharing with you my latest purchases but the lovely Shireen from Reflection of Sanity gave me the idea to do a nail polish collection post (thank you Shireen!). Now if I was to do this all in one go we would all be here for a very, very long time so I’m going to split it up into a series in order to break it down a bit. Seeing as autumn is well and truly upon us I thought I would start with the berry shades which I am just in love with at the moment.

Left: Avon Midnight Plum, Right Boots No.7 Damson Dream
Left: OPI but annoying the name has rubbed off so I'm not sure what it's called I'm afraid. Right: Boots No. 7 Queenie
Left Barry M Magnet in Burgundy, Right Avon Delux
Left Jessica Blushing Princess, Right Topshop Matte Nail Polish in Mystic
Left: Marks and Spencer Nail Polish in Hot Pink, Right: Avon in Pink Radiance
Last but not least, Barry M Pomegranate
As you can see, with nail polishes I am not at all brand loyal and pick ones from a mixture of different places. If I have to choose though, some of my favourite nail polishes are made by Barry M, OPI, Jessica and Essie. Barry M are great for super cheap polishes that are still good quality and they have a huge choice of colours. Although you may pay more for the likes of OPI, Essie and Jessica here in the UK, I really think they are worth it and they will last you so long and the formulas are really good to work with.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Let me know if you would like to see more in this series and if so which colour groups you would like to see first! Also is anyone else finding it so difficult to get good lighting for photos now the clocks have changed?? These were taken in the middle of the day in the conservatory so there's tons of windows but they are still a bit dark! If anyone has any tips for taking good, light photos at this time of year please let me know! :)

Which are your favourite nail polish brands? What sort of shades do you usually go for?

Thank you for reading and I hope you’re all having a great weekend :)

  2. Wow, these colors are absolutely gorgeous, girl! I love the berry shades, I'm actually wearing a color right now that's fairly similar to that OPI color! I love the idea for the series and would definitely like to see more, perhaps with different shades of blue?! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have the best week ahead!

  4. I love your collection. I too am a fellow nail polish hoader. Though I tend to stick to certain brands, which is just something in my nature! I am open to trying other brands too though. I personally love OPI. Quality is always exceptional with these guys, even if price is a little steep. I love the colour selection from Essie but over in Oz it's too pricey and honestly I find it chips far too easily to justify the price.

  6. @Shireen L. Platt I feel like I need to have a clear out as I'm going to be struggling for places to store them all haha. I have been buying quite a few gel polishes recently as well but I think I'll have to save them for a different post or else I'll be here for a very long time! Hope you're having a great week :) x

  7. @sonia de macedo I'm glad I'm not alone with my nail polish obsession haha, they're just so tempting to throw in your basket as little extras! I totally agree, for me OPI is definitely one of the best brands and I have really been enjoying their gel polishes too.x

  10. What a gorgeous collection of nail polishes you have - and these are just the berries/pinks?! Clearly the various trips accompanying your mum to the salon as a kid have paid off; you're a true nail polish aficionado haha ;) Love the swatches by the way, very stylish way of showing them!

  12. Wow, that is a lot of nail polishes. My small and I mean very small collection doesn't been compare to yours. I don't wear nail polishes often but those shades are beautiful and great for the season.

  14. @Gabrielle Thank you :) Yes these are just the berries and darker pinks but my actual pink post is going to be the longest as I am always drawn to girly, pink shades. I always used to love going to the salon with my mum and she has definitely past on her love of a good manicure to me haha. I think I'll have to slow down on buying more polishes though or else I'm going to run out of places to store them all! x

  15. @Ann-Marie Cato I love berry shades for this time of year and have been wearing them so much throughout autumn. The only trouble is some of them start to dry up if you don't use them that often so I think I need to stop buying nail polishes for a while and use the ones I have! x

  16. @Kissandmakeup Thank you, I'm really glad you like them :) I wasn't sure which would be the best way to swatch them all as it would take me forever to paint my nails in each polish and photograph them. I'm glad it turned out OK this way though x
