Hi everyone,
So as promised here is my review of
the Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Liquid Lipsticks. As far as I can tell these
aren’t available in the UK as yet but I picked these up in the States and
hopefully they will make their way over here before long!
The main selling point of this
lipstick is its longevity and I have to say I have not come across another
lipstick that stays put like this one, in fact I had trouble getting it off! I
ate and drank at lunch and my lips looked exactly the same as before and I even
had a shower and scrubbed my face with Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions but it
still didn’t budge! In the end I actually had to use a Simple Cleansing wipe
and rub it across my lips to remove it which wasn’t the nicest of things to do
but it did the job. I’m all for a long lasting lip product but I do think it
goes a tad too far when you are having to go to these lengths to get it off. On
the plus side it is nice not to have to worry about touching up your lipstick
or lip gloss throughout the day and it’s also not often that a product
completely comes through on what it claims to achieve.
This is the lipstick still on my hand a whole day later and after two showers! |
The colours I chose are 006 Ultimate
Orchid and 010 Premium Pink. Ultimate Orchid is a gorgeous baby pink shade with
a matte finish while Premium Pink is much brighter and has a shimmer to it. I
really like both shades but seem to get more compliments when I wear the Ultimate
Orchid one. They have a doe foot applicator and are really easy to apply with
great pigmentation. The one thing I really don’t like about either lipstick
however is the smell! I can’t place my finger on exactly what it is but I think
it smells a bit like plastic or maybe paint?? This really put me off at first
but thankfully you can’t smell it once it’s on the lips!
Although the liquid lipsticks do feel
quite dry when they’re on they actually didn’t dry my lips out as much as I
expected them to. A lot of long lasting lip products and matte lipsticks make
my lips feel horrible after a day’s wear so I was pleasantly surprised to find
that this one didn’t have the same effect. I can understand however that the
drying feeling you get when this lipstick is on might not be everyone’s cup of tea
and would put some people off but for me it isn’t a major issue.
Overall I really love these liquid
lipsticks for their amazing staying power and the fact that you don’t have to
worry about it fading or smudging onto your teeth, especially if it is a darker
colour. The issues I have with them are only minor and wouldn’t put me off
repurchasing. I really hope these lipsticks become more readily available in
the UK as I would love to try out some more colours. I think I would feel more
confident to go for some that are a bit darker that I would normally steer
clear of for worry that they would be too high maintenance as I know it
wouldn’t be a problem with these.
Have you tried the Revlon ColourStay
Liquid Lipsticks? What did you think? And if anyone knows where I can get them
in the UK please let me know in the comments below :)
Thanks for reading,
Hannah xx
I have yet to see these here but I will continue to look out for it. I do like that it's long lasting without drying out the lips so definitely something that I need to add into my ever growing lipstick collection. LOL!

@Shireen L. Platt They are really good at lasting all day and I haven't found a lip product that stays put as long as these. If you don't mind trying to get them off I would definitely recommend them if you can get your hands on them :) x
