Hi everyone,
A few months ago I decided that I need
to take better care of my skin and invest in some higher quality skincare
products. Perhaps this coincided with my 26th birthday and the worry
that I should maybe look into some anti-aging products, after all, prevention is
always better than trying to resolve the problem later! Also the products that
I was using just weren’t doing anything for me anymore and I knew that it was
time to switch things up a bit.
I now have a routine that I am happy
with and seems to have had a positive effect on my skin. I still need to
improve some areas, for example decide on an eye cream that I like, but overall
I think I now have a good routine in place.
I’ll start off with my morning routine
in this post so that it isn’t boringly long and splits it up a bit.
1) First off when I get out of bed I jump
in the shower and use the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub
(£2.99). I love the scent of this scrub and think it is really nice and refreshing
to use in the morning and give me a quick wake me up. It also gets rid of any
dry skin without being too harsh and leaves my skin feeling really smooth and
soft.
2) Next I sometimes give my skin a quick
wipe with the Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Wipes (£1.49) just to make sure my
face is extra clean and ready for my moisturiser.
3) The moisturiser that I have been using
is the Clarins Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream (£42) which I
absolutely love! I was really struggling with dry skin thanks to the super cold
weather we have been having and the moisturiser that I was using (Nivea Daily
Essentials Sensitive Day Cream) just wasn’t cutting it. I saw a huge
improvement in my skin from the first time I used this moisturiser and haven’t
look back since. It is a bit on the pricey side but my skin feels so soft and
looks much more glowing after I have used it so I definitely think it is worth
splashing out on. The assistants on the Clarins counters always seem to be
really good at giving out testers so it’s worth asking for a sample to try
first if you’re unsure.
4) I have never really ventured into the
world of eye creams but I thought it was time that I did, especially as I was
advised not to use the moisturiser round my eye area. I have been using the Clarins
Eye Contour Balm (£30) which I was given a sample of when I bought the
moisturiser but I think I will splash out on the full sized version as I have
really liked using it so far. If you have any other eye cream recommendations
though please leave them in the comments below :)
5) After applying my eye cream I finish
off with a slick of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream (£26) on my lips. This
is a Holy Grail product for me as I tend to suffer with quite badly chapped
lips in the winter and this balm really helps keep them hydrated and in tip top
condition.
And that’s it for my morning skin care
routine! It’s not very complex as my skin is quite sensitive and I don’t like
to overload it with too many products but I have found this combination has
really been working well for me.
Which skin care products would you
recommend? Do you have a skin care routine post? Leave you links and comments
in the box below :)
Thanks for reading,
Hannah xx
I'm a huge fan of eye cream and you got me intrigued by this from Clarins. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, will check up on it.

I think I will probably end up buying the full sized version of the eye cream as I have really liked using it so far :) xx
