New York Drugstore Haul

Hi everyone!

Today I have the second part of my New York shopping haul which will be the drugstore edition! I was so excited to hit the American drugstores as I had read blogs and watched YouTube videos of hauls and best beauty buys for years and couldn’t wait to investigate them for myself.

Essie and OPI nail varnishes

I could not believe how cheap Essie and OPI nail polish was in New York and so I ended up buying quite a few different ones, although I wish I had bought more as you really can’t beat the price at $9 each! The Essie ones I got were: Pink Diamond, Angel Food, Warm and Toasty Turtleneck, Tart Deco and Sparkle on Top. I only bought one OPI polish which was Can’t Hear Myself Pink. Keep an eye out for my NOTD posts for swatches of all the colours I bought; coming soon is the Angel Food review!

EOS lip balms

I have wanted to try these lip balms for so long now and they are probably the one product that I had heard most about and was told to get the most when I went to New York. I bought the sweet mint flavour as well as the pomegranate and raspberry option but I definitely think the sweet mint is my favourite of the two.

Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal in Pink Quartz

I have had Baby Lips before and liked them but didn’t love them but I basically just bought this one because it’s pink and sparkly!

Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder

You can buy this powder in the UK as well which I am so pleased about because I really like it! I have used Clinique Almost Powder Makeup for as long as I can remember so it’s fab to finally find a high street option that I like almost as much.

Neutrogena Skin Clearing Mineral Powder

I actually got this powder for free after receiving a £10 gift voucher for spending over £40 at Bed Bath and Beyond. As far as I can see this one isn’t available in the UK which is a shame as it’s another really good powder. I like that it comes with a little mirror and a two sided applicator, one side which gives fuller coverage and one side for a more sheer finish.

Physicians Formula Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil Blush

Physicians Formula was one brand which I really wanted to try out and I was so intrigued by the idea of an argan oil blusher. The intricate pattern on the blusher itself is so pretty with the lovely gold edging (which has sadly all disappeared now) and the pink shade gives a lovely glow to the cheeks.

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow Palette

Another product with gorgeous packaging, this palette contains a highlighter, blusher, powder and bronzer. I having been using it by blending the four sections together and applying to my cheeks for a lovely, natural flush of colour.

Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara

This was a product that I just threw in my basket whilst running round Duane Reade in excitement on the first day of my holiday but I’m really not that impressed with it so far. I just find that it does nothing for my lashes and I always end up applying another mascara over the top whenever I use it.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Snow Pink

This is a great dupe for Dior lip gloss in 257 Venus and is a gorgeous shimmery nude shade. If you’re not a fan of sparkly lip products then this one won’t be for you but I never could resist a bit of shimmer!

Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Liquid Lipsticks

This was another product that was recommended to me and I picked up the colours Premium Pink and Ultimate Orchid. I really don’t like the smell of them but the colours are lovely and I don’t think I have used them enough yet to make a fair judgement. Keep your eyes peeled for a review in the near future if you’re interested to know more about this one.

L’oréal Colour Riche Le Gloss in 152 Nude Touch

I haven’t used this gloss a great deal yet but first impressions are that the formula seems a little watery! You guys will have to let me know in the comments below if this is right as is seems a little unusual to me and the colour is very sheer. I think I need to use it a bit more before I draw any firm conclusions but I don’t think it’s going to be one of my favourites.

L’oréal Paris Pop Balm in 440 Electric Pink and Colour Riche Balm in 218 Rose Elixir

When I saw these lip balms I loved the look of them and hadn’t seen them in the UK before. I’m not sure what the difference between the Pop Balm and the Colour Riche Balm is meant to be but I really like both and they are fab for those days when you want a bit of colour but don’t feel like going for a full lipstick.

Maybelline ColourSensational Lipstick in 715 Hibiscus Pop

As far as I can tell this lipstick is from the Rebel Bloom collection which is similar to the Rebal Bouquet collection from Maybelline here in the UK. However, I think this shade is only available in the US. Again I haven’t used this one a great deal yet but I do love the girly, Barbie pink shade of this lipstick.

Milani Lipstick in 09 Frost Pink

Now I won’t lie, this first thing that caught my interested in this lipstick was the scent! I couldn’t put my finger on what it was for ages so I eventually asked my boyfriend who said it’s watermelon! I also love the packaging which looks really luxurious and expensive for a high street brand and the colour is a lovely frosted baby pink. I wish this brand was more readily available in the UK as I would buy so much from it!

Bath and Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel

I’m sure everyone has heard about the Bath and Body Works hand gels as they have had so much hype around them! At $5 for 5 they are such a bargain and I love all the different scents that are available as well as the fact that a lot of them contain some sort of glitter!

Bath and Body Works Fragrance Mist in Paris Amour and Wild Madagascar Vanilla

I spent absolutely ages wondering round Bath and Body Works trying to decide which body mists to get as there are just so many to choose from! In the end I settled on Paris Amour and Wild Madagascar Vanilla but if I had not been as worried about my luggage allowance I definitely would have bought more than two!

And that is everything! Looking back I actually wish I had bought more which may sound crazy but there was just so much choice and a lot of difference products to the ones available here at shops like Boots and Superdrug. I am really pleased with everything I have bought with the exception of perhaps the mascara and the Colour Riche Le Gloss but overall the products are more or less all ones which I would rebuy if I can.

Have you tried any of the products I bought in New York? What do you think of the things I picked up?

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx
