The Experimenter Lush Bath Bomb

Hi everyone,

Strangely for me, I am still working my way through the Lush products that I received for Christmas this year! They don’t normally last this long but I did get quite a few as more and more people discover my bath obsession.

I have to be honest I did wonder if this bath bomb had gone off when I used it. As I mentioned, I have had it since Christmas but when I asked the assistant in Lush she assured me they should last about a year so I thought I had plenty of time to use it. As you can see in the photos, it had gone a little crumbly though and it turned the water a sort of murky purple / grey colour. This did put me off slightly as I wondered if it was supposed to be like this but it still had a lovely smell to it, which is a little different to the ones that I would usually go for. It is quite a strong scent which contains vetivert and vanilla but for me it is definitely the vetivert that comes through more.

Overall, I’m not really sure what to make of this bath bomb and perhaps I need to get it again and use it straight away for a better idea of what is meant to happen. It started off well with an array of colours swirling round in the water which maybe is what caused the murky finish? I liked the added glitter aspect too and the scent so in the end I did have a nice, relaxing bath.

Have you tried this bath bomb? If you have I’d love to know if yours turned out like this or if mine was an odd one?

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx

    1. I think they should be OK as the assistant in Lush told me they should all last about a year as long as they're kept wrapped up and not in a damp place. You'll have to let me know how you get on with it :) x

  2. I love lush beauty bombs! I think you got this result because of the dark shades on it... I try to go with one colored ones :)

    1. Yeah I think it probably was all the colours mixing together that made the water this colour but it's not the most appealing! I think I'll stick to ones that are just one colour from now on :) x

    1. Yeah I think so too although it's a bit disappointing after the initial swirl of colours x

  5. It looks beautiful in the bath, though funnily enough I've heard a few people lately saying that their bath bombs from Lush haven't been performing as usual! Have a lovely weekend :)

    1. Oh dear, I hope Lush aren't losing their touch! I'm a big fan of theirs normally but this definitely isn't one of my favourites x

  6. The Experimenter is one of my favourites! I think mine crumbled and went funny quite fast, don't know if thats anything to do with the ingredients but I did repurchase it and used it straight away which worked a lot better :) x

  7. I think I will try that, next time I buy it I'll have to use it straight away and hopefully it will be better. I am always a bit wary of them going off if I've left them a while. x
