Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth Body Lotion Review

Hi everyone,

Recently I have been having trouble with dry, itchy skin which has forced me to be good and use my body lotions and butters more often. Normally, I am really bad at doing this, especially in winter when it is just so cold when you get out the shower and all you want to do is cosy up in your pyjamas! However, seeing the benefits of doing it more regularly has meant that I have stuck with it and now my skin feels in much better condition.

One of the body lotions that I have treated myself to recently is the Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth. The lotion contains ingredients such as sweet almond oil, rosehip seed, shea butter and mango peel extract and has the Mist You Madly scent. I ordered this online and hadn’t smelt it before but I wasn’t worried as I usually really like Soap & Glory scents. I have to say though that although this scent is pleasant enough, it wouldn’t have been my first choice for a body lotion had I smelt it beforehand. I tend to be drawn to more fruity fragrances for shower products and body lotions and the Mist You Madly scent is quite floral as it contains freesia, magnolia, vanilla and musk.

One major plus to the Soap & Glory body lotions for me is that they come with a pump. I really like this as it means less mess and I don’t get it all up my nails like I do when scooping out a body butter! The lotion itself is described as being ‘ultra rich’ and does have a fairly thick texture which takes a little longer to sink in than some of my others that have a lighter formula (as to be expected).  The results are worth it though as my skin always feels so soft when I wake up in the morning and regular use of this lotion has meant my skin has felt so much more hydrated and less tight and itchy.

I will definitely continue to use the Soap & Glory body lotions going forward but I do think I will choose one with a different scent next time as this one is just a little too floral for me. If you guys have any recommendations please let me know in the comments :)

Have you tried any of the Soap & Glory body lotions? What did you think of them?

Thanks for reading,

Hannah xx

  6. I have tried a few products from this brand but never the body lotion. I do use body lotion, cream or oil every day after I shower, it's a habit that my mum instilled in me since I was a child. If I don't use one I feel like my skin is shrivelling up like an old prune, I know it's in my head but that's how I feel. LOL!

  7. I've never tried any of Soap & Glory's products before, but have heard so many great things about the brand in general. This actually seems like a lotion I'd like because I love floral scents, except rose for some reason. I also love the sound of it being thick in consistency, which helps to really penetrate and moisturize the skin, which is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, beauty, and I hope you have a great week ahead!

  9. I actually love some thick lotions, as I typically use thinner ones typically but when my skin needs extra hydration I love think mositurisers for bath and body. This sounds like a great one! Also that Mist You Madly scent sounds lovely. I love magnolia. Have a wonderful week dear. xx

    1. I do like thick lotions in the sense that they work really well and hydrate the skin so much better in general but I don't like it if they are sticky and take ages to sink in! I hope you are having a lovely week too :) x

  10. I'm so lazy when it comes to moisturising as well, I need to take your lead! I pick up the S&G righteous butter for my Sister, which is also really moisturising, she likes the scent of that one. For myself, I like the Garnier intensive and the body shop butters :) xx

  15. I love Soap & Glory products. They began to phase them out of Sephora in 2014 but they're now in Target and Ulta which is even better. Love their lotion, and I love their 3 in 1 face wash. Its life changing!

  20. I have issues with scented lotions since I have sensitive skin as well. I've had the worst issue with eczema on my hands during the summer months, when my skin gets very dry, cracked, and raw. Apparently, it's from washing my hands too much. Using lotions with scents irritates them even more. :/

That lotion does look very pleasing though. :)

  25. I've not tried any Soap and Glory moisturisers. I tend to stick to body butters, although I have to say, the one I'm currently using has a pump dispenser and I agree with you that it's a lot more practical! x
