Benjabelle Brush Tree

Hi everyone!

After getting my new Sigma makeup brushes for my birthday I decided I had better start to try and look after them a bit more so that hopefully they will last a long time! I try and wash my brushes around once a week and was just leaving them on the side to dry. However, whilst browsing the internet one day I came across these Brush Trees from Benjabelle (http://www.benjabelle.com/) and decided I had to get one!

The Bejabelle Brush Tree is a stand that has silicone grippers to hold your brushes upside down, allowing water to drip away from the ferrule (at the top of the brush and holds the bristles in place), as well as helping brushes to keep their shade and dry quicker. The Original Brush Tree can hold up to 14 large brushes or 42 smaller ones and the new mini tree can hold up to 24 small brushes e.g. for lips and eyes.  There are also three different colours available to choose from which are pink, white and black. I was going to buy my Brush Tree from the Benjabelle website as they were more expensive on Amazon etc, but as the company is American I was worried about getting hit with huge customs charges. However, after contacting Benjabelle directly they told me about a UK website (http://www.ulalabeauty.com/brands/Benjabelle.html) where you could order the trees from for £29.99.

So I have used my Brush Tree a couple of times now and I have to say I have found it to be really useful. You can take the tree apart so that it lies flat making it easy to store and it only takes a min to put it back up again. It also allows brushes to dry without them becoming misshapen or water getting into them which could cause the ferrule to loosen and bristles to fall out or for the handle to drop off. Some reviews I have read have said that their brushes have dried quicker when using the tree but unfortunately I didn’t notice a difference in drying time.

There wasn’t too much that I disliked about this product and I thought the idea of it is brilliant. The only things I would say is that the original tree is much better suited to the larger brushes as you have to group smaller ones together for them to stay put. You would probably be better getting the mini version if you have a lot of small brushes but I think it might be an idea to have a tree that has both larger and smaller holders so you don’t have to get two different ones. I also found it to be slightly wobbly but this wasn’t a major issue for me.

Overall I would really recommend the Benjabelle Brush Tree and think it is quite a handy product to have. As makeup brushes can be so expensive I definitely think it’s worth getting a product like this to try and pro-long the life of your brushes so that hopefully you won’t have to splash out on a new set anytime soon!

Have any of you guys got the Benjabelle Brush Tree? What did you think of it?

Thanks for reading xx
